UPDATE TO JUNETEENTH HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: APM Terminals Elizabeth will be OPEN for a MODIFIED gate on Fri. 6/19 - Juneteenth (ILA Holiday) from 6AM-4PM. During this modified gate they will be open for all move types, re**er & OOG included. They will not be accepting export loads.

All other terminals will remain CLOSED to truck activity Friday, June 19, 2026 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. (Maher Terminals, Port Liberty Bayonne, Port Liberty NY, PNCT).

UPDATE POSTED BY THE NJ TPKE AUTHORITY TONIGHT:
Two New Jersey Turnpike ramps in Secaucus will be closed for the FIFA World Cup match at NYNJ Stadium Saturday afternoon and evening.

The affected ramps are:

The northbound ramp exiting at Interchange 16E/18E to Paterson Plank Road

The southbound ramp exiting at Interchange 17 to Paterson Plank Road

Those ramps will be closed from four hours before kickoff to four hours after the end of the match.

All other Turnpike ramps and interchanges will remain open.

While the ramps are closed, detour routes will be posted on the overhead variable message signs to assist drivers attempting to access NJ 3 to reach destinations in Secaucus and elsewhere in Hudson County. All classes of trucks are allowed on the detour route.

NJ Trucking Community Advisory: Critical FIFA Traffic Update

Exit 16E Northbound and exit 17 Southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike will be closed to all vehicles other than shuttle buses and rideshare drivers for 4 hours before each FIFA match, the 2 hours during the match, and for the 2 hour time window after each game is over. Exit 15X will remain open an alternate.

Detours are posted on all signage and GPS data will have all detours included as well.

We will continue to stay in close communication with the appropriate government agencies to resolve any issues or concerns that may arise as a result of these closures.

UPDATE from the NJ Turnpike Authority on highway closures:

“All detours are good for all class vehicles. Detours are posted on all signage. GPS data will have all detours included as well. No detours given for trucks are height or weight restricted as they are all the state highway system.”

We will share any additional resources as they are received.

Municipalities and community groups can encourage residents and commuters to stay off the roads, particularly on match days and in “hotspots” where matches are being played. We recommend that residents consider the following:

We have confirmed that exit 16E Northbound AND exit 17 Southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike will be closed to all vehicles other than shuttle buses and rideshare drivers for 4 hours before each FIFA match, the 2 hours during the match, and for the 2 hour time window after each game is over. (For example: from 1pm to 10pm tomorrow). Exit 15 X will remain open. Along with New Jersey Motor Truck Association we are contacting various agencies to secure official details to share, and have also requested a map we can distribute showing the detour routes, along with confirmation that the planned detours meet the height and weight requirements for Class 8 trucks.

Check the comments below for the guidance that has been released thus far, which shows the dates and times for each FIFA match, and the time windows where the exits will be impacted. We will share more information as we receive it.

Tomorrow, the NJ Turnpike 16e exit ramp to Secaucus will be closed from 1pm-10pm.

Maher Terminals and the Maher Terminals Empty Depot operated by Columbia will be closed for truck line activity on Friday, June 19, 2026 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
