Pittman Trucking is grieving this morning with the loss of one of our own. Driver Daylen Buchanan was tragically taken from us last night in a non trucking highway accident.
A lot of folks like to talk about everything that's wrong with this young generation, but Daylen was as fine of a young man as they come. Daylen worked hard, took pride in his work, and never put a scratch on any of our equipment during his short driving career for us. He represented us well and loved what he did. Filling the gap he leaves as an employee will be no easy task.
But Daylen was a whole lot more than just a good worker. To know Daylen was to know a friend. Daylen would come in off the road from his trip for the day and if you were still working, would always check to see if you needed help. He was always laid back and fun to be around! He was the kind of guy you liked to see coming.
Daylen loved the Lord and was grateful for what the Lord had done for him and for all the blessings that the Lord had bestowed on him! Daylen walked that out, too. His whole demeanor and the way he carried and conducted himself was a reflection of Christ and his gratefulness to God. The only comfort that we can find this morning is knowing that Daylen is walking the streets of heaven with his savior! Never again will he have to endure the curses, sorrows, and troubles of this sinful Earth.
Please be in prayer for his sweet family, friends, and girlfriend as they process this tragedy. Daylen will be missed by everyone that knew him, but praise God that we have the testimony that Daylen lived out to hold on to so that we can see him again someday! Life can be over in an instant... if you're reading this, we hope that you're ready to go meet God like Daylen was!
