We are thrilled to announce that our new scooter, S3, will be on the road in just a few weeks. Today, we want to share a few updates on how we designed S3 and our fleet management system with safety as the top priority.
Enhanced sensors in S3 and in our batteries are designed beyond today's regulatory requirements to diagnose potential issues and flag them for inspection. Data from these sensors enabled our team to create a new set of battery protocols for safe handling and operating conditions, including sustainable disposal. We incorporated feedback from hundreds of thousands of riders like you, so you don't learn your scooter has safety problems before we do.
At the same time that Skip received DDOT's first permit for scooter sharing in the US, we decided to create the first team of full-time technicians dedicated to one idea: running a fleet you can count on everyday. Today, our incredible team constantly monitors and maintains our fleet at our local Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul, or MRO facility. Take a look behind the scenes:
After a year and a half of development, we're so excited for you to try S3. We're also looking forward to sharing more about our safety engineering work.
