Created by drivers for drivers in an attempt to improve working conditions for honest drivers, these struggles eventually led to the opening of Southland Yellow Cab in 2008, Unlimited Yellow Cab in 2013 and Antelope Valley Yellow Cab in 2015. We continue to honor the memory of AV Taxi Services drivers such as Lee Dennis "Taxi Man" Parker and Alix Menuau, who both passed away getting Southland Yell
ow Cab on its feet. We honor their memories by reminding ourselves of a few simple ideas; Drivers with equal overhead should receive equal treatment from their own company (taking away from experienced drivers to give to new drivers is unfair to the experienced drivers). Placing the values of the union above the selfishness of any individual driver is better for all drivers in the long run. Cooperation amongst the greatest number of drivers results in the best service for the public (maintaining the largest team of shift drivers isn’t easier or more profitable, but the goal of adequate 24/7 coverage is our responsibility).
