Biking in doesn't mean you have to bike home or all the way to your final destination. SEPTA is proud to support bicycles, scooters, and other personal vehicles as part of a sustainable and connected lifestyle.

Bikes are always welcome on the B and the M. And all SEPTA buses and trackless trolleys have exterior front bike racks available for use 24/7.
Only folding bikes/scooters are permitted on the T, D, and G and anytime on the L and Regional Rail. You can bring your non-folding bike on the L on weekdays except between 6AM–9AM and 3PM–6PM and all day on weekends and major holidays. Regional Rail trains can accommodate non-folding bikes on weekdays except on inbound trains arriving in Center City between 6AM and 9:30AM and outbound trains departing Center City between 4PM and 6:30PM. Bikes are welcome on Regional Rail all day on weekends and major holidays.

SEPTA is officially moving ahead with the New Bus Networkβ€”the first comprehensive redesign of our bus system in history.

This transformation will deliver more frequent service, better connections, and expanded access to major job centers like the Navy Yard Philadelphia. It will also provide improvements along some of our highest-ridership corridors and make service more efficient for more riders across Greater Philadelphia.

Put simply: We are working to get more people to more places in the shortest time.

Customers will start experiencing these improvements beginning in late August.

Watch SEPTA General Manager Scott Sauer explain what this investment means for our riders, communities, and the future of transit in our region.

Yesterday deployed its first digital real-time arrival display at a bus stop in South Philadelphia as part of a pilot program to bring more real-time information to riders.

SEPTA installed the first device at the northeast corner of Broad St & Oregon Av which serves Bus Routes 7, 63, and 68. Nine more devices are coming to Bus stops as well as T, G, D, and M stops/stations across the system:

β€’ 40th St Trolley Portal (T2, T3, T4 & T5)
β€’ Schuylkill Av & JFK Blvd (9, 44, 62, 124 & 125)
β€’ Stadium Station (M1)
β€’ Girard Av & Broad St (G1)
β€’ Girard Av & Front St (5 & G1)
β€’ City Av & Presidential Blvd (1, 44 & 65)
β€’ Drexel Hill Junction Station (D1 & D2)
β€’ 52nd St & Market St (52)
β€’ Allegheny Av & Kensington Av (60)

Pilot locations were selected based on two key criteria: overall customer impact and geographic equity.

The screens are solar-powered, use e-paper technology, and are unique because they are small enough to be mounted on a bus stop sign pole. Each device is equipped with a text-to-speech button which gives blind and low-vision riders access to the same real-time service information.

Knowing when the next vehicle will arrive was a top priority for many of the 20,000 riders who participated in the comprehensive community engagement efforts for our New Bus Network.

When you ride instead of drive... you can read! πŸš†βž•πŸ“–πŸŸ°πŸ˜Š

DYK diving into a book physically lowers your heart rate and reduces cortisol levels? Reading helps you unwind before work or relax on the way home. It turns travel time into personal time. A good book can make a daily commute feel a little less routine.
