Arizona Association for Pupil Transportation

10/13/2026

Coming home (to New River) to the valley of the sun from the annual AAPT Conference held this year in Somerton/Yuma, Arizona, I made a pit stop in Dateland and see who I ran into.

None other than Jaime Lara, a past president of the AAPT. What a treat to see him! He's retired and was enroute home to Eloy from San Diego where he and his wife took their daughter in celebration of her 21st birthday. A flood of memories ran through my mind when I saw him, of AAPT yesterdays when Jaime was actively involved in the association. I got his phone number and hope to reconnect with him again in the future, maybe at another AAPT event. Anyway for those veterans of the AAPT who know Jaime I thought I'd share this with you.
