Did you know light rail trains follow their own bar signals, separate from drivers' traffic signals?

That means a train may be authorized to move through an intersection while drivers have a red light. Because a 50-ton light rail vehicle cannot stop quickly or swerve to avoid a collision, it is critical to follow traffic signals and turn restrictions around the tracks.

Thank you KJZZ for hopping on board for our Ride the Rail musical activation!

In July, Valley Metro and Downtown Phoenix Inc. hosted a series of live musical performances on the light rail B line. The concerts were part of the Ride the Rail initiative to bring people downtown to shop at small businesses during the hot summer months.
