‼️UPDATE: One lane is now open on the Salmon River Road in the affected areas. Panther Creek Road is also passable. Please watch for road maintenance equipment and travel slowly through areas with debris. To reduce congestion for road crews and drivers needing to enter and exit the corridor, please avoid unnecessary travel in the affected area at this time.

‼️The Salmon River Road, FS Road #030, has numerous debris flow slides blocking the road and is currently impassable. Lemhi County and Forest Service road crews are responding. There is not currently an estimate on when the road will be passable again. In addition, the alternate route downriver, Panther Creek Road, also has debris flow slides and is impassable. The Forest is using helicopters to gain information on the extent of the damage and is developing a plan to address the Panther Creek Road.
At this time, there is no estimated timeframe for reopening either road. Conditions remain hazardous and additional slides are possible due to saturated soils.
The public is advised to avoid these areas until further notice and to monitor official updates for changing conditions. More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
