Something I get asked all the time when I’m giving rides is whether WCWT is part of some larger transportation organization, like the River Falls Public Transit, or something like Uber or Lyft.
We are entirely independent! West Central Wisconsin Taxi is just Ben Plunkett and me, Kimberly Mohan! We’re local, right here in River Falls— we live right over near the Glen Park pickleball courts. We don’t receive city subsidies, and we are completely self-employed. We do both on-call and scheduled rides, in town and away. We do a lot of trips to and from MSP airport!
We have two vehicles — the EV9, which is the black SUV with the taxi light and taxi markings that you see around town, and the Ioniq 9, which is pictured below.
The Ioniq is the car we use for weddings and events— what’s called “Black Car Service” in the transportation industry. It’s a beautiful car, clean and quiet and incredibly spacious and comfortable. It’s an exceptionally luxurious experience. I love driving it! And, when we’re busy, it often gets called into service as a regular taxi, so folks ride in it even outside of events.
Both of our cars are fully electric, which means both of them are highly efficient and also pleasantly smooth, quiet and free of engine smells. We have cameras installed in both cars, with interior and exterior video and audio, so that everyone can feel safer riding with us.
