They say good things come to those who wait, but truckers know that great things come to those who work their tailpipes off!

If only there were some sort of SIGNAL to allow other motorists to know when you plan to TURN.

Someone will still get stucky stucky 😔

Certainly a different look.

Backing into any space was the most difficult thing to learn. I wish I had a video like this so
I understood the technique.

About Me

Yes, it’s about me, but only in the sense that my initials are M.E.—Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen Dempsey.

I came of age in the early 1960s when little was expected of women other than to become a wife and mother. Graduating from high school in 1962 after completing the requisite shorthand and typing classes expected of all girls. I was a disaster at both. It was abundantly obvious I wasn’t cut out to be a secretary.

Mary Ellen’s road to the big rigs began after she moved from California to Canfield, Ohio initially with a final move in a quaint small town of Wilkesville, in Southeastern Ohio. When her daughter, the second of her four children, was 18 months old, she took a job as a school bus driver in order to have her own spending money. It was a trial by fire for this Central Valley Californian who had never driven any kind of vehicle in snow prior to then. With a quaking heart, she learned to drive her forty-foot school bus on roads that rarely saw a snowplow. She accidentally fell into driving a bus for a living, but she loved it.

After fourteen years of marriage, the couple divorced, and Mary Ellen found herself a single mother trying to support four children. Homesick, she returned to California and quickly found a job driving for the San Juan School District in Sacramento as a bus driver. Sadly, although it paid well, it was only a part-time job and didn’t cover her all expenses as a single mom. She began to consider alternative jobs.
