Imagine living in a city where pedestrians are the priority… but how do we make this happen? How might we make our streets accessible and inclusive? 🤔💭

Join us in “Daan Nating Lahat: Improving Our Public Right-Of-Way for ALL Users” on NOVEMBER 5 (Friday), from 1PM to 3PM over Zoom. We’ll be discussing street accessibility with Mr. John Mark Lucas, a Filipino transport planner and sustainable mobility advocate.

Sunday morning (off peak?) traffic. Imagine weekday peak at this entrance to CBD. Enforcement, engineering solutions? Btw, U-turn banned from bottom arm. Been walking accross here everyday. No fun, but can not bear to be part of traffic. Was reminded this week, we are not IN traffic. WE ARE traffic.

Way to make transit use enjoyable and safe for everyone. Very honest indeed. Interesting view of HK transit culture. Seen any of these acts lately? Maybe we can get our Metro Transit mascot Skip Traffic (yes, that's its name) to be our super hero!

Published a while ago but this paper clearly states how past (and some current) transport planning projects fail to address our travel needs. How focusing on mobility (physical movement) diminishes accessibility (access to goods and services).

Working with Biko Associates to hosts our first public meeting for St Paul's W7th Parking Study next week and this words come to mind -
Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I'll understand (Chinese Proverb).

Have to explain why that free parking that we all love, does not really help make livable communities.

Luxembourg will be second, after Estonia to make public transport free to all. In reality, we may not be to far. St Cloud makes public bus free to students during the summer. Metro Transit has discounted students passes during the summer. Metro Transit collected $117M from fare boxes in 2017. I wonder how free transit will help reduce Minneapolis' estimated $2.3B traffic congestion cost in 2017 (City Labs study). We all pay for congestion.

Submitted by Ella Andrew on 10 Dec 2018 Luxembourg is planning to make all modes of public transport free to use. Xavier Bettel, leader of the country’s recently re-elected government, has pledged to remove fares on buses, trains and trams from the beginning of the summer of 2019. This follows Est...
