“…We as a community can all do our part to make it very clear this activity is not tolerated. Let’s all push our friends and family to find a designated driver when appropriate. Please! We can all help prevent a tragedy.”

We are seeing some disturbing trends this year involving violations of driving under the influence of alcohol and/ or drugs. In 2024 the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office averaged a little over 4 arrests per month. So far this year (2025) the average has spiked to a little over 9 arrests per month. Some of those numbers can be attributed to heavier enforcement that is demanded by the Sheriff but it is troubling none the less. We as a community can all do our part to make it very clear this activity is not tolerated. Let’s all push our friends and family to find a designated driver when appropriate. Please! We can all help prevent a tragedy.

Local photographer Lars Leber Photography has done it again!

The Arkansas River and the Milky Way near Salida, Colorado

I recently got a new lens and wanted to test how well it does with night photography. Since the cloud cover does not look super promising for the next few nights, we went out very early today. The conditions were great. :)

To whoever tagged this Monarch Mountain chairlift with an RMT sticker, you rock 🤘! To the rest of you, be sure to ask for a free sticker next time you get a taxi ride. They also look great on bumpers, coolers and water bottles 😂
