Sundance Film Festival is back for the 2019 season. This year we're giving all those folks preferring a rider app experience a major difference in choice. Surge rates for Uber and Lyft run about $480.00 from the Salt Lake International Airport to Park City during the festival, but this year Curb is here and bringing those crazy costs back down to earth. With Curb that ride will cost about $95.00 for 1-5 passengers.

We've had the conversation hundreds of times. Someone calls in and freaks out about how much they have to pay for an Uber of Lyft ride.
Both rider apps advertise they're cheaper, and even try to pass off their drivers as professional honest and experienced. In this sad example I'm not sure what to think as the manager of Yellow Cab Utah.
Was it inexperience? Was it padding the ride total by going all over the place before arriving at the destination? Were the rider app customers able to call Lyft and dispute this horrible ride and price? No to all...
TO BE CLEAR: If this were an actual fare - even with the ridiculous out of route for no reason blocks added in - a Yellow Cab Utah rate would have been ONLY $14.25. Let that sink in....

How Uber and Lyft can claim to be cheaper and honest when this is their product - and service is a product - amounts to theft by deception.
