Early in the morning of Tuesday March 14, longtime MV operator Delia Cristan, serving Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority, had just picked up a paratransit passenger and was traveling onto a heavily traveled roadway when she noticed a toddler walking on a side street. Ms. Cristan immediately stopped safely and exited her unit, catching the child just she was entering the busy main road. Ms. Cristan brought the child safely onto her bus and a passenger assisted while she called into dispatch and waited for police to arrive to reunite the young girl with her family.
Delia exemplifies the dedication and commitment of an MV paratransit operator. She has served as a CCRTA paratransit operator for more than 3 decades, starting in 1988, and with MV since 2002 (and has never had a preventable accident! ). Thank you for all you do Delia!
