Dear Members/Board/ Friends/Allies,

Happy New Year, Sixteen Years of UTWSD inception! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

As we kick off the new year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your hard work and dedication through a challenging holiday season. Wishing you all a happy and prosperous New Year

This year, there have been many successes:

We organized and hosted many meetings on our drivers' issues at San Diego Airport and gained a voice in our industry, and we want to thank the San Diego International Airport Authority for working with us.

Our co-op drivers provide transportation to San Diego College of Continuing Education students in need through our Ride United app.

Delivered more than 3900 rides this year and planning to continue. We thank . Tina King and her team at San Diego City College for allowing us to serve their students.

We supported the TAC election with significant change: old guards, most of them, replaced by new blood, and working drivers having a voice at the table.

We bring the cheapest taxi insurance to all members/Drivers in San Diegans.

We fight Waymo self-driving cars to come to our business and streets. https://youtu.be/kza0S-PboBA

We support and show solidarity with our brothers and sisters in labor movements, including the SD community, and with civil rights organizations. We express concern about the proposed deportation resolution.

Also show support and solidarity with the Unite Airlines Flight attendants' union negotiations, Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA)

We also support our friends and neighbors in their efforts to protect working people like Councilmember Sean Elo-Rivera, due process ordinances, and passed at the city level.

Our community met challenges at the highest level in the office, the president, Mr. Trump, calling our community Garbage, we spoke out and told him "Immigrant R Us".

This upcoming year, we are expanding our ADA community's access to rides at the airport and in the city through our partnership with FACT.

We remind drivers that if you have been unfairly treated by anyone at the airport, MTS, CBX or any branch of law enforcement, you can come to us for assistance.

Don't be silent if you see injustice. Please report the incident and document it so we have evidence.

Please talk to us at United Taxi Workers of San Diego, UTWSD/UTWSD If you want to see policy changes at the Airport/MTS, please share your ideas with us, and we can advocate for those changes.

Thank you for your professionalism and cooperation! Let's make 2026 a great year together!

San Diego: From Your Somali Neighbors 🇸🇴

Trump called us "garbage"—but here in City Heights, we know the truth. We, Somalis, work in healthcare, transportation, retail, and small businesses. They pay taxes, feed families, and strengthen our community.

15,000 Somali San Diegans deserve better than hate and fear. We are neighbors, not garbage.

An attack on one community is an attack on all of us.

Somalis in City Heights, many of them U.S. citizens, say the president’s rhetoric has created fear in the community.
