City of Santa Monica Big Blue Bus Providing 13 million safe, reliable, & sustainable trips each year within 56 sq miles of Santa Monica and West Los Angeles.

Big Blue Bus is a City of Santa Monica department, governed by Santa Monica’s City Council. Big Blue Bus’s service area spans more than 58 square miles of greater Los Angeles and its 189 buses provide rides to more than 16 million people each year. Service is funded via farebox revenues and a variety of county, state and federal subsidies. No monies from the City’s general fund are used by Big Blue Bus.

Friday (6/19), Customer Service and Blue: The Transit Store will be closed in observance of Juneteenth.

UCLA’s Hilgard Terminal will be closed 6/19. Routes 1, 2, & 8 will serve C.E.Y./P2 instead.

All other routes will operate a regular weekday schedule.

MODE service and the MODE Call Center will be unavailable on Friday, June 19, 2026.
