Lawson Gerald Ford, 81, of Shafter, California, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born on July 6, 1944, in Greenville, Mississippi. He moved to California as a young man and built a life rooted in hard work, family, and faith.

Now hiring. Looking for experienced diesel mechanics

Job responsibilities:
· Diesel diagnostics and repair.
· Preventive maintenance of fleet equipment.
· Maintain safe working practices.
· Perform field repairs of vehicles as necessary
· Comprehensive knowledge of BIT/DOT inspections
• Ability to follow and cooperate with instructions given by supervisors
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to complete job related paperwork, safety and time keeping records
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems
• Knowledge of electrical wiring
• Knowledge of Detroit engines (DD13) a plus
• Knowledge of Paccar engines a plus
• Knowledge of computer system and software a plus

Perform other duties, including cleaning service
truck, shop, and yard as requested
Operate company vehicles in a professional,
courteous, and safe manner.

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience working in a
Truck/Trailer Maintenance
Must hold a valid driver’s license
Class A CDL a plus
Extremely detail oriented
Strong attendance
Self-managed and highly motivated
Clean and professional work attire
All Tools provided
40+ hours a week
Plenty of seasonal overtime

$22-28 an hour DOE.
