A marching band is 150 students, their instruments, their uniforms, and everything they need to be ready to perform the morning after they arrive.
There's one practical way to move all of that from Pennsylvania to Florida overnight. Campbell Bus Lines did it.
The kids slept on the coach, spent the next day in the park, and marched down Main Street at the Magic Kingdom the morning after that.
And the ride wasn't something to get through on the way to the good part. Hampton's band director, Chad Himmler, counts it as part of what the trip taught them:
"We slept overnight on the bus and then we go into a park all day… they don't realize it, but they're learning perseverance."
That's what doesn't show up in a fleet spec. The coach isn't just how the trip got there — it's the reason the trip could exist at all, and it turned out to be part of the lesson.
