The Star Wars like laser weapons are being tested right now by the Navy.

The laser weapons can take out drones and missiles. The 60kw laser can reach out 5 miles to defeat threats. As long as you have power for the laser, you have unlimited shots compared to a gun that uses ammo.

Ukraine has designed a 30kw laser that weighs 1,000lbs. This laser could works on a small aircraft to protect itself from danger in contested environment.

We are entering the DARPA Heavy Lift Challenge. DARPA wants a drone that weighs 55lb. to carry a minimum of 110lbs. and they would like to carry 220lbs. of payload.
