In 1993 George purchased his first used 379 long hood Peterbilt, which became his youngest son Brian's truck. This was the beginning of the long hood era, but not the end of cabovers for George. (I could post cabover transformations for days.)
In 1995 George ordered the first 379 "GVD Green" long hood from DSU Peterbilt. The paint color came from a Peterbilt cabover owned by Bettencourt Transportation Services out of Coos Bay. The '95 became Brad's truck #22.
George continued to replace cabovers with long hoods, all ordered in different colors, and switched from flatbeds to 53' curtain vans.
By 2011 we were up to 25 trucks, 40 trailers and approx. 10 Owner Operators, hauling in Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Texas.
Due to mills closing earlier, appointments required and drivers' hours of service, etc. Drivers were dropping and hooking to different trailers to help with efficiency. One truck might be Orange and the trailer behind it blue. It just wasn't George's style. In 2011, we began painting the entire fleet green, creating what's now known as GVD green.
