Summer school bus routes are now available!

Please contact your child’s school with any questions regarding summer school enrollment or information. Summer school transportation will begin on Monday, June 1st.

Update: Elementary students for affected routes ONLY will dismiss at 3:15 and HS/MS and elementary students will be brought home together.

There is currently an accident on Mount Washington Road at Hunters Trace, which has the road shut down at this time. This will affect Routes 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19.

I have turned buses back around to return to the elementary school. We will begin contacting parents to make arrangements. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We have finally made it to the last day of school!

Due to the number of students expected to be missing tomorrow and in an effort to allow a little extra time for families to get to graduation, I expect elementary route buses to arrive approximately 10–15 minutes earlier tomorrow afternoon. I am planning to begin loading elementary buses around 3:40 PM.

We have had a great year and wish each of you a happy and safe summer!

Summer school bus routes will be available on Friday. Bus routes for the 2026–2027 school year will be made available in July. If you have not already done so, please complete Online Registration as soon as possible, as this information is used for transportation planning for the upcoming school year.

Please help us congratulate Shay Hardin on becoming a newly certified bus driver for Spencer County Schools Transportation. Shay will be joining us as a full-time driver for the 2026-2027 school year, and we are excited to have her behind the wheel serving our students and families each day.

Good morning,

While transporting our kindergarten students from Taylorsville Elementary to the Louisville Zoo this morning, we were informed of a potential threat and that an evacuation was in process at the zoo.

At that time, our buses had not yet arrived, and our students were not in danger. Out of an abundance of caution, we redirected the trip, and all students have been safely transported to an alternative field trip location. School staff immediately notified all impacted families.

Our bus drivers are often the first smile in the morning and the last goodbye in the afternoon, helping set the tone for a great day.

This morning, while transporting middle school choir students on a field trip, Bus 2072 experienced a blown heater hose that was initially reported as smoke but was later determined to be steam. Out of an abundance of caution, all students were safely evacuated.

The Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Department responded to the scene along with district officials.

We would like to thank the driver for their quick actions, as well as the students for remaining calm and following instructions during the situation.

All students have safely arrived at their destination.
