Connection, conversation and shared experiences were at the heart of a recent AIT Cares initiative in Monterrey, Mexico.

Through the company’s paid volunteer hours program, teammates spent five hours at Casa de Retiro Luis Elizondo, a residence providing comprehensive care for senior citizens in the community. The visit included a donation to the organization and activities including lotería (Mexican bingo), music, refreshments and social time with residents.

Congratulations to Fred Johnson on his promotion to vice president, road network, North America.

Since joining AIT Worldwide Logistics, Fred has helped strengthen and expand the Middle Mile Network, including improved processes and enhanced service quality.

As part of AIT's paid volunteer hours program, , teammates from the Chicago area recently supported CEL - Center for Enriched Living's annual golf tournament, presented by AIT.

CEL provides social, recreational and educational programs, employment support and life-skills opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Volunteers assisted with guest check-in, welcomed golfers, helped facilitate activities on the course, distributed event materials, and supported on-site event logistics.

Back-to-school season is here, and AIT volunteers recently lent a helping hand.

As part of an AIT Cares event, nearly 250 teammates, including summer interns, partnered with Cradles to Crayons Chicago at AIT's global headquarters and the AIT-Chicago station to fill 8,000 backpacks with school supplies for students in the community.

All supplies were donated by the company. Teammates contributed a combined 308 volunteer hours, packing approximately 2,000 backpacks per shift, and helping to equip local students with the tools for a successful school year.

Moments of connection can make a lasting difference.

Recently, eight AIT-Tijuana volunteers in Mexico spent five hours with residents of Fundación Alzheimer Casa Belén BC, an organization dedicated to caring for people living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Using AIT's paid volunteer hours program, , team members participated in games and activities with residents, helping bring companionship and engagement to their day. The team also made a donation to support the purchase of supplies and medications needed to provide ongoing care and support.

Earlier this summer, teammates from our Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, stations supported underserved families in Luong Nang Village, a remote mountainous community.

During the eight-hour effort, 22 volunteers worked with the People’s Committee of Kim Dien Commune to prepare and deliver donations, distribute gifts and support items, install solar-powered lights, and assist with activities for local children. Teammates also connected with residents to learn more about the community’s needs and concerns.

Giving back is at the heart of AIT Cares.

Recently, volunteers from our El Paso, Texas, team partnered with Rescue Mission of El Paso to help support community members experiencing food insecurity. Together, they prepared and delivered meals, assembled gift sets, and played bingo with the residents.

This effort is just the latest example of our teammates’ dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

Earlier this summer, members from our Juárez, Mexico, team partnered with Fundación Unidos Por El Autismo A.C to support its mission of advancing autism awareness and therapy services.

Using AIT's paid volunteer hours program, they spent the day painting the organization's new therapy building and assisting with inauguration activities to help prepare the space for the children and families who will be served there.

Teammates from AIT-Hermosillo recently volunteered with Un Torneo Muy Especial, a baseball program that promotes inclusion and creates opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities.

During the event, volunteers supported training sessions, encouraged participants, and helped create an environment where teamwork could thrive. The day concluded with a celebration that brought together participants, families and volunteers for games, recognition activities and time to connect.
