We are looking to hire a reliable and responsible driver to transport clients in a safe, timely, and comfortable manner. As a non-emergency medical transportation service, Indiana Medicaid providers such as Anthem, MHS, and Care Source depend on our company to provide quality service to their members to and from medical facilities, dialysis centers, pharmacies, and hospitals. Ultimately, you will help us increase customer satisfaction and help to build a strong reputation for our company by making sure clients can fully depend on us for their transportation needs.
Driver requirements
* At least 23 years of age
* Reside within 20 miles of Terre Haute
* Valid driver's license
* Clean driving record with little or no traffic violations
* Clean 5-year criminal record with absolutely no sexual offenses
* Smart phone with consistent and reliable service at all times
* Internet access
* Vehicle to get to and from company car
Driver responsibilities
* Map out routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trips and to determine pickup times
* Maintain a direct line of communication with company management and clients
* Assist clients with loading and unloading walkers & personal items if needed
* Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up to date on road conditions and report unsafe driving conditions immediately
* Adjust routes to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
* Ensure the temperature and seat positions inside the vehicle are comfortable for all riders
* Wait for clients at medical facilities when necessary
* Report any issues with the vehicle immediately
* Use provided car wash to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the car
* Use provided gas card to fill fuel tank each day
* Utilize company app on mobile phone to log trip details and collect client signatures
* Log trip information on paper forms for documentation and payment
* Return company vehicle to specified parking location at the end of each workday
Required Skills
* Familiarity with GPS devices and mobile apps
* General knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
* A polite and professional disposition
* Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour or on interstate highways)
* Must be able to pass 3 online training courses. First Aid/CPR certification, Defensive Driving, and PASS (Passenger Assistance, Safety, and Sensitivity) Training
Schedule
* Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday mostly during normal business hours.
* Occasional weekends may be offered but not mandatory
* Schedule containing trips for the following day is sent out each afternoon
* Same-day hospital discharges are common but generally optional.
* Drivers have the ability to add a significant amount to their paychecks if they maintain open availability and are willing to take on additional trips as they are offered
Pay $300 - $800 per week
Drivers are to be paid on a weekly basis. Pay is calculated per completed trip with a flat rate for local trips and a per mile rate for any trip exceeding 11 miles one way.
Please note: All drivers are to be considered contractors, not employees. We do not deduct income tax from paychecks and 1099's are mailed out each year for tax purposes.
