At the close of business today (and after 90 years of proudly serving our community/region), we are closing our doors for the last time.

We find ourselves at a point where there are not enough commercial vehicle drivers available to us to have our operation provide enough service to break even financially.

While incredibly frustrating, we are walking away with the many tens of millions of miles we traveled with you. We are eternally grateful for the support that you have shown us and wish you nothing but the best of health moving forward.

We will miss you!

As we continue to bounce back and redefine ourselves for this "new norm", we are consolidating the operations of our holding company, along with the administrative portion of our PA affiliate (Avery Transportation) into some new office space in Hawley, PA.

The new space is centrally located on US-6 at the north end of Lake Wallenpaupack and minutes away from I-84.

As you can see, Suzy Brussell (our Operations Manager for Avery) has already claimed her office and is ready to move in soon!

As proud members of the CVSA, we are very supportive of all of their efforts to help keep our roads safe. Today is the first day of Operation Safe Driver Week, their seven-day safe-driving campaign aimed at improving the driving behaviors of passenger vehicle drivers and commercial motor vehicle drivers through educational and traffic enforcement strategies and interactions with law enforcement.

Members of law enforcement will be on roadways this week keeping an eye out for commercial motor vehicle drivers and passenger vehicle drivers who are driving dangerously. Examples of dangerous driving behaviors include speeding, driving while using a mobile device, driving aggressively, cutting off other drivers, following too closely, etc. Drivers identified by law enforcement officers for engaging in unsafe driving behaviors will be issued a warning or citation.

The goals of Operation Safe Driver Week are to:
• Alter drivers’ unsafe driving behaviors by having a high-visibility law enforcement presence on our roadways.
• Change bad driving habits long term through interactions with law enforcement.
• Provide commercial motor vehicle driver education and awareness programs to the motor carrier population.
• Reduce the number of crashes on our roadways.

Law enforcement jurisdictions will be tracking commercial motor vehicle driver and passenger vehicle driver interactions during Operation Safe Driver Week and will submit that data to CVSA. The results from this week will be released this fall.
