At Rozafa, safety isn’t a rule, its a routine.
The spring months bring warm weather, flowers, and sunshine, but both March and April are known for being the windiest months in the United States. High winds are one of the most underestimated hazards for trucks. Large trailers create a lot of surface area, which means strong crosswinds can affect stability. Light or empty trailers are particularly vulnerable, because there’s less weight to hold them down.
Our professional drivers take extra precautions during this time of year, watching closely for wind advisories. In high wind areas, they reduce speed, increase following distance, are cautious on bridges and open highways, and adjust routes as necessary. Sometimes, the safest decision is slowing down significantly or waiting until conditions improve.
