Whether you’re rolling through Texas, posted up at a truck stop, or chasing that next load today’s a reminder to celebrate the culture, the grind, and the road that keeps America moving.

Most drivers focus on the rate… but how you talk to brokers is where the real money is made.

A few things that separate average from top earners:

Don’t sound desperate. Sound like you’ve got options—even if it’s been a slow day.
Ask questions before giving a rate. The more info you have, the more leverage you get.
If they lowball you, don’t argue… just calmly state your number and pause. Silence does work.
Stop over-explaining. The more you talk, the weaker your position gets.
Short and direct messages win: “Truck in the area, can do $2,300 all-in.” Done.
Timing matters—rates look a lot better late afternoon when brokers are scrambling.
Be willing to walk away. Funny how money shows up right after you do.

At the end of the day, brokers remember drivers who are easy to work with and handle business like pros. That’s who gets the better calls and better rates over time.

You don’t need to win every load… just the right ones.

Diesel prices are all over the map right now and if you’re not paying attention, it’ll eat into your profit quick.

Here’s the reality 👇

🇺🇸 National average: around $5.00–$5.30
🔻 Cheapest states (Midwest/Gulf): ~$4.60–$5.10
⚖️ Middle of the pack: ~$5.10–$5.70
🔺 Most expensive (West Coast/Northeast): $6.00–$7.50+

Yeah… California is basically charging luxury prices for fuel 😅

But here’s the part most folks miss:
👉 The cheapest pump price isn’t always the cheapest fuel after IFTA.
👉 Where you fuel matters just as much as how much you fuel.

Smart drivers don’t just chase low prices they plan their fuel stops based on routes, taxes, and miles.

If you’re running lanes through high-cost states and not planning ahead, you’re leaving money on the table. Period.

Strong storms are firing up today across the Midwest and Mid-South, with the highest risk centered around Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and western Kentucky. Areas near St. Louis, Peoria, and down toward Paducah are in the bullseye for severe weather.

🌪️ Main threats:
• Damaging winds
• Large hail
• Possible tornadoes
• Heavy rain reducing visibility fast
