The End of an Era, and the Beginning of a New One at Waterloo Regional Airport ✈️
Today, we say goodbye to a familiar piece of Waterloo Regional Airport’s history as our boarding bridge is removed.
For years, this bridge has been more than just a way to get from the terminal to an aircraft. It has been the starting point for countless adventures, the final step on the way home, and the connection between Waterloo and destinations across the country and around the world.
Hundreds of thousands of passengers have walked across that bridge to begin a vacation, head off on a business trip, visit family and friends, or return home after time away. For some, it was the beginning of an exciting new chapter. For others, it was the welcome sight at the end of a long journey.
Every one of those steps represents a story, a memory, and a connection. While most passengers probably never gave the bridge a second thought, it quietly played a part in so many journeys over the years.
But as one chapter closes, another begins. Starting tomorrow, installation of our new boarding bridge will begin, bringing an updated piece of infrastructure to our terminal. This new bridge will serve our passengers for decades to come, becoming the starting point for hundreds of thousands of new journeys, reunions, vacations, and adventures.
The bridge may be changing, but our mission remains the same: connecting our community to the people, places, and experiences that matter most.
Here’s to honoring the memories made on the old bridge and looking forward to all the memories that will be made on the new one!
One bridge comes down. A new chapter begins. ✈️
