The Sophomore with the walk off!!!! We’re Big Charlie Payne fans!!!!

Patriots get the win tonight on a walk off single by Charlie Payne! Patriots pitching was stellar tonight, as Cole Cheatham went 5 innings, striking out 8 & Ezra Hensley coming in for 2 innings & striking out 5. Patriots bats were held in check for 6 innings but going into the bottom of the 7th, the patriots came alive! Down 2-0 in the bottom of the 7th, Cheatham gets on by a HBP, Salsbery hits a single, Miller puts the ball in play & forces an error, scoring Cheatham, making it 2-1. Harvey reaches on a Catchers interference, loading the bases with no outs. Williams come up and lines a pitch back up the middle but it’s caught and Harvey gets doubled off at first. Payne comes up to the plate with the winning run on second base, goes down 0-2, Salsbery steals home as Payne lines a ball back up the middle to center, scoring Salsbery & Miller to win the game! This is the Patriots first Playoff win since 2019! Your Patriots will be back in action, Monday at 11AM to take on Centerville in the Sectional Semi Finals!

Mark your Calendars! This coming Thursday, your Patriots have a big conference game against Hagerstown. We would love all your support! But even better, we are honoring Coach Jeff Mathews & Coach Will throwing out the first pitch!

Coach Mathews has impacted a lot of lives in his years of coaching, especially mine! Coach Mathews is one big reason I got into coaching, as I want to make an impact in a lot of young kids lives like he did to me and all the others! Coach Mathews was head coach at Union County from 2006-2019, where he never had a losing record, collected 288 wins, 5 conference titles, 4 sectional titles & coached multiple all state players. Please help us in recognizing Coach Mathews, April 30th at 5:15PM & stay and watch the Patriots take on the Tigers in a conference showdown!
