Aircraft Cleaner

Aircraft Cleaners are responsible for cleaning the interior and exterior of aircraft. This includes aircraft structural parts during heavy maintenance checks. Exterior cleaning tasks include removing exhaust stains, washing the airframe, belly and other related areas such as wheel wells and flap wells as well as polishing bright work and cleaning windows. Interior cleaning tasks include wiping down seats, tables and interior panels, cleaning lavatories, shampooing carpets and stocking the aircraft with galley and lavatory supplies. Cleaners service lavatory holding tanks and potable water holding tanks. The cleaner completes forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures. Cleaners are responsible for general maintenance of the hangar facility to include taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors and keeping equipment and material in the facility properly stored and organized. Cleaner are responsible for detailing customers vehicles to include exterior washing and interior cleaning. At times cleaners may be required to run errand and pick up parts and supplies for the maintenance department as well as other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High School graduate.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
• Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test.
Competencies:
• Must have the ability to work independently, or as part of a team, with little or no supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably.
• Have 20/20 corrected vision, good hearing, and be willing to wear all required safety equipment. (Personal Protective Equipment – PPE) Regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, and is frequently required to stand, walk.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints.
• Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as necessary to meet company requirements. Normal working hours are day shift but aircraft scheduling may require work outside normal hours to meet dispatch requirements.
• Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
Language Skills:
• Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Working ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Work Environment:
• The Aircraft Cleaner is usually working inside but may be required to work outside and exposed to all types of weather conditions with a seasonal range of temperatures which include rain, snow, wind and extreme temperatures.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and activity.
• Occasionally high noise levels exist where hearing protection is required and provided.
