If you've been putting off basic cleaning, now’s the perfect time to refresh your truck for spring. Follow these seven steps to keep your truck looking and feeling new.
1. Wash and Wax the Exterior
Winter weather leaves behind dirt and grime, especially on the undercarriage. A thorough wash removes buildup while waxing protects your truck’s paint from strong UV rays in the warmer months.
2. Organize and Disinfect the Interior
Dirt, dust, and allergens accumulate over time. Wipe down cup holders, the steering wheel, and door handles. To eliminate odors, leave a small bag of coffee grounds in your truck for 20–30 minutes, then sweep them up—coffee absorbs lingering smells!
3. Treat Seat Stains
Scrub seats with warm, soapy water to remove stains. For tougher spots, use an upholstery cleaner and always test a small area first. Keep the doors open to help air out any strong cleaning smells.
4. Clean the Dashboard, Headliner, and Floor
Use soapy water or a gentle interior cleaner to wipe down surfaces. Avoid polish products, as they can create glare on the dashboard or make floors slippery.
5. Vacuum and Wash the Floor Mats
After vacuuming, scrub the mats with soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and let them dry completely before placing them back in the truck.
6. Replace the Cabin Filter
A fresh cabin filter improves air quality by trapping pollutants and allergens. Check your owner’s manual for the correct replacement procedure.
7. Wash the Curtains
Curtains collect dust and odors over time. Follow care instructions before washing and drying them to keep them fresh.
With these simple steps, your truck will be clean, comfortable, and ready to roll into spring!
