Today I'd like to talk about belly wrapping freight that has a greater tendency to slide, primarily steel pipe and steel tubing. It may be overkill in some instances, but we require 50% of all straps used on pipe and tubing to be belly wrapped over the top. If the straps cross underneath the freight, it can still roll and shift. The wraps must cross and come down over the top of the freight to bind it together and hold it down. In this case, I went slightly overboard and belly wrapped six of eight straps, seeing that the tubing was 40 feet long.

These AC units came off the roof of a Lowe's and were being turned in for decommissioning. These units were covered in FOD (foreign objects or debris). The unit circuit panel covers were not screwed in, and the vent filters were missing securement. It is crucial to check not only your securement but also ensure nothing is going to fly off the freight while in transport. Take the time to look everything over.
