This afternoon Sheriff Tollefson brought pizzas for our drivers meeting and thanked them for all they do to keep the kids safe. Thank you Sheriff Tollefson!!

Yesterday our drivers drove with caution and did their best to get kiddos to where they needed to be safely. We are so proud of our drivers everyday! Our drivers take their job to heart and do their best daily to make sure kids are safely transported too and from school.

Hey Everyone -
There always seems to be some confusion as far as when a vehicle needs to stop for a bus. Hopefully this will help explain it a little better. We get plenty of Stop arm violations weekly (sometimes daily). Please watch for the yellow and then Red flashing lights.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Lyle has worked for Willmar Bus Service since 2024. Lyle is qualified and has driven all our vehicles including mini vans, small special ed buses, and full-sized school buses along with our coach buses. Lyle’s day-to-day route is on a small special ed bus.
Lyle’s favorite part of his job is the customer’s he meets on trips, the students he transports and the school staff and the Willmar Bus staff.
Lyle’s advice for new hires is, “Take it slow. Turn it wide. Watch out for big rocks and make it all about the passengers”.
Prior to working for Willmar Bus, Lyle was an Engineer for off-road equipment for 38 years. Now he drives and teaches at the college level.
Some of Lyle’s hobbies include music, theatre, fishing and sports.
Other fun facts about Lyle are that he likes to see other places. His previous line of work took him to every continent but Antarctica. He has seven states left to fill his “dance” card, but he always loves to come back home.

It is with a heavy heart that we have learned one of our past bus drivers has passed away. Sandy was the kindest, sweetest (with a little sass) lady! She not only drove our special needs kiddos but she would come in during the summers and deep clean the buses. She was an amazing baker and would often bring us goodies. We always loved a visit from Sandy and to hear her laugh was the best.It was contagious. Sandra - you will be missed💗

HUGE shout out to Bennett with Ed’s Service Center for coming out on a Sunday evening to rescue our coach bus and for giving us a nice tow back to our garage!! We appreciate you guys!! THANK YOU!!
