Before starting your Communauto reservation, take a moment to check the car from all sides. A quick walk-around can help you spot anything that could affect your ride.

🔎 Check for:
• Any new damage or scratches
• Flat or damaged tires
• That the spare tire is where it should be
• Anything unusual that could impact your trip
• The overall condition of the vehicle
If you notice damage or an issue that wasn’t already reported, make sure to report it before starting your trip.

It only takes a minute, and you can do it directly in the app. 💚

Answering a commonly asked question this week! Can you drop off a car in a different location from where you picked it up? It depends on the service you choose to use.

A FLEX car can be returned anywhere in the service zone, so you don't need to return it where you picked it up. A round-trip car always returns to the station you picked it up from.

Communauto doesn’t use surge pricing. That means the price of your trip isn’t automatically increased just because it’s a busy time of day, a sunny Saturday, or everyone’s heading to the beach. ☀️

Whether you’re booking for a busy weekend or grabbing a FLEX on your way home, you pay Communauto’s regular rates.

Ever wondered what all the icons on the map mean? 👀

We get it, we offer a lot of different services. The Communauto app has a built-in icon legend that explains exactly what you're seeing, making it even easier to find the right car for your trip.

📍 Here's how to find it:
1. Open the Explore screen in the app.
2. Tap the round icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, just above the Explore icon.
3. Tap Display setting to switch your preferences.

We've introduced a new FLEX Pass! FLEX Unlimited gives you unlimited 30 minute trips in a one month period.

You can purchase the pass through the Communauto app and use it in Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa-Gatineau. Specific rates apply.

Conditions:
The FLEX pass is valid for one month from its effective date.
Your eligible trips only become billable starting on the 31st minute.
Consecutive use of vehicles: to enjoy the 30 free minutes of use, you must allow a period of 45 minutes after the end of a trip before blocking or using a vehicle again.
Unless you have chosen one of the other Damage Protection Plan options, the cost per trip with the default option to limit your liability to $1000 in the event of an accident, whether at fault or not, applies.
