I LOVE travelling foals and yearlings, especially when it's their first time! Being a part of their travelling journey is something I take huge pride in and I always do my absolute best to make sure they have a calm, positive experience to build on for the future. .. HOWEVER!...
My word, aren't they messy?! 🤣🤣

After 14 years of cleaning horseboxes you would think I would be sick of the sight of cleaning products, disinfectant and pressure washers but nothing makes me happier than seeing the horsebox like this ready for the next passenger! 😍

Just some (as I've been terrible with taking photos!) of the World Horse Welfare horses I have had the pleasure of moving recently. Its always such a privilege to help out with transporting these horses as I know how hard the whole team at Hall farm work in getting them ready for pastures new!

I knew I hadn't posted for a while but I didnt realise it had been quite so long! I'm sure I say it every time but I really have been busier than ever! 😆 amidst the chaos of juggling work and the summer holidays, it was also my birthday at the start of the month, and nothing says you're still young and fun quite like your wife buying you personalised air fresheners for the lorry. She's either trying to tell me that the cab could smell better or highlight that my boy Gatsby is a bit derpy... or both! Either way, they're a talking point! 😆

He also gains the Matt East Award for Most Leisurely Descent Down the Lorry Ramp, in the "Horses 16hh and Over" category 🏆😂
I dont think I've ever known a horse to so carefully and meticulously wander down my lorry ramp before after a long trip, and especially not one as big as him! Top marks, Cali!

Alongside my other journeys this week, it's been an absolute pleasure to spend so much time hanging out with World Horse Welfare. On board this week we have had WHW Eenie, Tequila, Montana and Lady. As well as transporting residents to and from the sanctuary, I also had the pleasure of collecting a young cob and safely delivering him to WHW to begin his new life with them. Quiet Sunday tomorrow followed by a busy week ahead, starting with WHW on Monday 😂😍

Thank you to everyone for bearing with me the last week, my replies may have been a bit sporadic as I was away on holiday with my family and friends! Cyprus was lovely, we had an absolutely amazing time and the children were horrified at having to return to school and routine after a week of staying up late and eating muffins for breakfast 😆 I've kept on top of replying to messages as best I can but if you are waiting for a reply from me then please do give me a nudge as I may have missed it! July is already looking busy and I've got some exciting journeys to look forward to- nothing says back to reality quite like jumping straight back into work, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

14 years ago I had a set of horsebox keys, an idea and quite a few nerves- and Matt East Equine Transport came to be!
To still be here, 14 years on and several sets of horsebox keys later, is absolutely amazing and I feel very lucky to have met so many amazing people and their horses (and quite a few other animals!) during that time. Let's see what the next 14 years holds 😆

When the horses head is approximately 5 times the size of your own, it's either an Irish Draft, Shire, Clydesdale or Draft horse, and in this case it was Mufassa, the Swiss Draft! 5 years old and the size of a small house, he had impeccable manners for our 5 hour trip from South Wales to Norfolk!
