Sometimes, growth looks like stepping into a room where you feel completely out of your depth.

A few weeks ago, I did exactly that.

I entered my very first business pitch competition, representing Sober Soldiers at the Diana International Research Institute Pitch Competition. To say I was outside of my comfort zone would be an understatement.

I'm incredibly proud to share that Sober Soldiers was awarded Runner-Up in the Early Ventures/New Businesses category. 🥈

Of course, bringing home second place feels amazing, but what I'll value even more is the experience. The judges gave me honest, constructive feedback that challenged my thinking and showed me exactly where Sober Soldiers can grow. That's a gift.

Building this business has never been about simply getting people home. It's about creating safer roads, giving people peace of mind, and proving that a purpose-driven business can make a real impact.

This experience has reminded me that growth doesn't happen when you're comfortable—it happens when you're willing to be vulnerable, learn, and keep showing up.

💬 A review that truly touched my heart.

Last night’s pickup was scheduled for 6pm — we arrived just before, as always. When I got there, I noticed a private paramedic on scene without an ambulance. After a quick assessment, I realized my client needed more than just a ride — he needed calm, safety, and someone to get him to hospital quickly, but also close to home.

So that’s exactly what we did. I also called a relative (who’s one of our clients too) to keep them informed and make sure he wasn’t alone in this.

The next day, he sent this beautiful review — and it reminded me why I love what I do. ❤️
