Are you tired of the same old boring holiday roast? Well, shake things up with this delicious turkey recipe from your friends at Load Bee! This recipe is guaranteed to be a hit with the whole family and will have everyone coming back for seconds (and thirds... and fourths). So preheat your oven and let's get cooking!
For a 5.4 kg turkey:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper
Mix together the butter, rosemary, thyme, sage, and parsley. Carefully lift the skin of the turkey away from the meat and spread the herb butter mixture underneath the skin. Rub the remaining butter mixture over the outside of the skin. Season the turkey with salt and pepper.
Preheat the oven to 220Β°C and roast the turkey for 1 hour. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 180Β°C and continue roasting for an additional 1-1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 74Β°C. Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
