MEET MR. KEOTSHEPILE LENNOX OLIPHANT, OUR JOHN TAOLO GAETSEWE DISTRICT AMBASSADOR IN THE NORTHERN CAPE PROVINCE:
Keotshepile Lennox Oliphant is a community leader, social entrepreneur, and development practitioner based in Kuruman within the Joe Morolong Local Municipality, Northern Cape. Born and raised in the Ba-Gasehunelo tribal community, he is deeply committed to uplifting marginalised and underdeveloped communities through structured grassroots initiatives. He is the founder of Itsoseng Bana Ba Thari (IBBT), an organisation focused on addressing critical social challenges and promoting sustainable community development.
Through IBBT, Keotshepile leads programmes that tackle social ills such as alcohol and drug abuse, gender-based violence, teenage pregnancy, bullying, and social injustice using a collaborative and preventative approach. His work also focuses on training and development, equipping peer educators to provide career guidance and support in schools, while developing auxiliary workers to offer psychosocial support and referral services. A key part of his vision includes establishing safe houses and emergency shelters for GBV and disaster victims.
He currently serves as John Taolo Gaetsewe District Ambassador for the NPO Community Economy Impact Competition in the Northern Cape Province, where he leads advocacy, mobilisation, and coordination efforts to strengthen grassroots participation and community impact.
In addition, Keotshepile is a District Coordinator for CSUCSA, Chairperson of the Ba-Gasehunelo Tribal Community, and a representative of the voiceless. Professionally, he is a Fire and Disaster Coordinator and an active entrepreneur.
