The goal when descending isn’t to plan for the arrester bed it’s to avoid needing it altogether. Always shift to a lower gear before the descent to keep control. If you rely too much on brakes alone and they fail where there’s no arrester bed… disaster is the only likely outcome. Stay safe, shift smart!
