VINTNER’S SURF CLASSIC 2024

Supporting local initiatives lies at the core of the Winetrans Logistics ethos and we were really pleased to be invited, as a sponsor, to the Vintner’s Surf Classic again in 2024.

This annual surf contest was held at Jongensfontein this year. Contestants hail from the local South African wine industry and the standard of surfing (as is the standard of wine) is extremely high.

Not only do we support the event but also the organisers who work at keeping these initiatives alive – how wonderful to see the contestants supported by their friends and families – a great time was had by all.

Another consignment of disposable paper IBC’s moving from South Africa - these units are a cost-effective one-way “bag-in-box” packaging system. The paper IBC is able to carry up to 1000 litres of non-hazardous product.

These units offer efficient storage and transportation of bulk liquid. Although we choose to have our technical support team on hand to facilitate filling and loading at the various winery’s, the units are easy to set up and facilitate filling, packaging, handling, and transportation.

The paper IBC offers compression strength from 8 to 10 tons and is capable of stacking 3 metres high, thus increasing storage efficiency. However, with a keen awareness of environmental laws, the units are completely recyclable, bio-degradable and waste-to-energy efficient.

ELSENBURG 2024

What a delight to meet the class of 2024 Elsenburg cellar students. The future of South African wine making seems to be in good hands.

This is the second year we have been involved in this project and it was a privilege to share insight into the industry from a diverse perspective. Collaborating together with Vinlog, in order to better support the local industry, is something we are passionate about.

Wine making is an art, and great care is taken during each step of the production process, we believe this should not waver when it comes to moving the finished product.

Cognisance must be taken of industry and government requirements. Strict specifications must be adhered to in order to ensure safe passage of the cargo from loading to final distribution.

We took the opportunity to share some of these requirements as well as some of the pitfalls to be noted, we also took the opportunity to share some of the amazing projects and developments currently on offer in the market.

Today is World Read Aloud Day!

At Pebbles, we are on a mission to break barriers and challenges our learners face around literacy and reading for meaning.

We have reading corners in centres, our FACET Mobile Resource Library that travels around to all the farms ensuring the learners have access to books, we have exciting monthly themes to keep the learners engaged and interested in reading as well as dedicated literacy tutors.

Having access to books and support around literacy and reading ensures our learners have the best possible opportunity to be at their correct reading age and level.

Keeping it real… keeping it local!



Winelands 10’s tournament was held on 3rd and 4th November 2023 and Winetrans Logistics was delighted to support the event.



While the tournament is a fun event, the team remains focused during game time, taking winning very seriously and celebrating the wins even more seriously! The event sported some of the Western Cape’s top netball players with team Jagermasters being the reigning champions.

REFLECTING ON THE POSITIVE



Logistics is demanding and the situation with our commercial ports is not helping matters. South African ports continue to be affected by adverse weather conditions, equipment breakdowns and shortages, as well as internal congestion.

We are all aware of the critical factors impacting service levels in the industry and the major part played by Transnet. It goes without saying that these issues do need to be addressed but there is another side that we should not lose sight of.



We must focus on the commitment to customer service that is still reflected in our industry. When the odds are stacked against us or our clients there are players who will step up without hesitation and make it their mission to create a positive customer experience.

Fairview Goat Run

This amazing event gave us time to pause (while running) and to take stock of our beautiful surroundings. From vineyards to fynbos vegetation in the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve.

As we build up to the busy yearend, Adele and Carina were keen to spend quality time with their boys and took on the challenge.

Well done ladies - we are very impressed!

The goal of the event is to celebrate life. It is designed to be a special, fun day for the entire family to enjoy the beautiful Paarl mountain and vineyards - and at the same time - a wonderful opportunity to support members of our community who are in need.
