✈️ MEET THE PILOTS | Nick Hinde
If Nick Hinde wasn't flying aircraft across Zimbabwe's skies, he'd likely be fixing engines or working the land as a farmer. Practical, down-to-earth and with a passion for the outdoors, Nick's love for aviation was sparked by Top Gun, and today you'll most often find him at the controls of his favourite aircraft in the Grand Air fleet, the Caravan.
Among the many incredible destinations Grand Air serves, Mana Pools remains one of Nick's favourites, while the Kariba to Bumi route never loses its appeal. He appreciates the freedom and beauty that come with flying in Zimbabwe, especially during April and May when the skies are at their most spectacular. With a spare uniform always packed in his flight bag and a dream of one day flying to Oshkosh, Nick embodies the adventurous spirit that makes bush flying so unique.
When asked what he wishes people knew about Grand Air, his answer was simple: "It's not a corporate operation." It's a reflection of the close-knit team, personal service and passion for aviation that define the company. His message to guests and the Grand Air family: "Happy landings, and may you see a pangolin."
