🚨 We’re Hiring | Assistant Transport & Operations Manager

📍 Bardon Hill / Northampton

Premier Logistics Group is continuing to grow, and we’re looking for an Assistant Transport & Operations Manager to help lead our operation across two busy sites.
This is not a desk-only transport role.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, can make decisions under pressure, understands drivers and compliance, and genuinely enjoys running transport operations properly.

With 110 HGVs, 300 trailers, 5 operating sites and over 220 people across the group, this role is critical to keeping the operation moving efficiently, compliantly and profitably.

📌 The role includes:
• Supporting the day-to-day management of the transport operation
• Driver management, shift handovers & operational oversight
• Monitoring compliance, WTD & Drivers’ Hours
• Supporting planning & subcontractor management
• Managing customer communication during live operational issues
• Working closely with fleet, planning and night operations
• Covering the Transport Operations Manager when required

📌 We’re looking for someone with:
✔ Previous transport or logistics supervisory experience
✔ Strong understanding of compliance, WTD & DVSA requirements
✔ Experience in fast-paced transport operations
✔ Confidence managing drivers, issues and customer expectations
✔ Commercial awareness and operational ownership
✔ CPC qualification (or actively working towards it)

Experience with Qargo, Samsara or pallet network operations is advantageous — but mindset, resilience and accountability matter most.
