Our Managing Director appeared on ITV Meridian News last night to discuss the impact of rising fuel costs on the coach and bus sector. He explained that locally owned SME businesses like Chalkwell Coach Hire are being hit the hardest, while the Confederation of Passenger Transport continue to lobby Government on the industry’s behalf.
Coaches and buses play a vital role in communities across the UK, and the sector needs support in the form of an exemption to the fuel duty increase in September, alongside financial assistance and guidance for local authorities.
He also highlighted the need for a positive message to encourage more people to save money by choosing coach and bus travel instead of filling up the car.
