Earlier in the year, Section 232 tariffs hit 50% on copper and aluminum articles, 25% on derivatives.

If you manufacture electrical components, HVAC systems, construction materials, or industrial equipment, this is a daily operating cost now.

The manufacturers absorbing it best have done a few things:
→ Rerouted sourcing through ports with faster drayage infrastructure
→ Increased domestic warehouse positioning to reduce import frequency
→ Moved from just-in-time to strategic buffer stock near their facilities

The freight strategy around metal sourcing has to change when the tariff math changes.
