This week your Dream Makers Vacations advisors, Connie and Lynnae, are experiencing Alaska onboard the beautiful Celebrity Solstice so we can continue bringing firsthand knowledge and real experiences back to our clients.

Today was our first port stop after departing from Vancouver BC and we spent the afternoon in Icy Strait, Hoonah, Alaska. We could not have asked for a more perfect Alaska day… sunshine, warm temperatures, calm water, and incredible scenery everywhere you looked.

The whales were definitely enjoying the weather too! We saw several whale blows throughout the afternoon along with a couple of amazing tail flips while sailing onboard Celebrity Solstice that reminded us exactly why Alaska is such a bucket list destination.

One of the things we love most about Icy Strait is that it still feels authentic and untouched. It’s owned by the local Native corporation and offers a true glimpse into Alaska’s culture, wildlife, and small-town charm. Whether it’s whale watching, ziplining, hiking, or just soaking in the views from the waterfront, this is one of those ports that surprises people in the best way.

We truly believe the best way to help our clients plan unforgettable vacations is by experiencing destinations ourselves. We travel, tour, explore, ask questions, and pay attention to the little details so we can guide our clients toward the experiences that fit them best.
