The listing said "solid wood, u haul it." Marketplace shorthand for a great deal with a catch.

Solid wood is exactly why these pieces are worth buying secondhand. It's also exactly why they're brutal to move. Blankets, straps, a truck, and two people who know what they're doing turn that catch into a non-issue. 🪵

The fine print is negotiable when the hauling part is handled.

Every September 1st, Boston does something no other city does. Leases turn over all at once, and the sidewalks fill with free furniture. Locals call it Allston Christmas.

It is a real chance to score a bed frame, dresser, or table for nothing. The only hard part is getting your find home when it does not fit in a car and lives four flights up.
