Did you know: Pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, birds, bats, beetles, and small mammals, contribute to the U.S. economy by keeping fruits, nuts and vegetables fertilized through a process of moving pollen from one flower or plant to another. Only fertilized flowers can make fruit and seeds.

See this blue sign? It’s the most important piece of information at a railroad crossing. If your vehicle ever stalls on the tracks, or you see an emergency, don't wait. Get everyone out, move away from the tracks, and call the number on this blue Emergency Notification System (ENS) sign immediately. It connects you directly to the railroad to stop oncoming trains.

Heavy-duty wrecker is working to remove the last tractor trailer, which is tangled in a cable barrier.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Tuesday, June 23. All northbound lanes of I-81 are closed in Frederick County due to a crash involving tractor trailers and other vehicles near mile marker 309.7. The crash is between Stephens City and Wi******er. Cleanup and recovery is expected to require an extended closure. Avoid the area if possible.

I-81 North traffic detours at exit 302 (Middletown) and follows Route 11 north to the Wi******er area. Motorists can rejoin the interstate at exit 310 or follow the Route 37 bypass to I-81 at exit 317 just north of the city.

Tuesday, June 23, is going to be another day for potential strong storms across Virginia. If you must drive during a storm, remember to turn your headlights on, slow down and never attempt to cross a flooded road.

Strong to severe storms are again possible this afternoon into early this evening, with damaging winds the primary threat. In addition, localized flash flooding is possible (mainly in urban/flood prone areas). Make sure you remain weather-aware heading into today and have multiple ways to receive warnings!
